Scroll sawing images into timber has been done for quite some time now, however nothing as elaborate or as detailed as what is being produced these days.
Scroll saw work is done by using a scroll saw machine to cut tight curves into the timber, the desired image is achieved by creating a negative space which is produced when certain areas of the timber are removed thus producing the desired image in the timber.
The areas to be cut in the timber are usually done by overlaying a stencilled pattern onto the timber and then cutting out the unwanted areas of the pattern to produce the image in the timber.
Scroll saw work can also be very time consuming and intricate, which requires a lot of patients from the person producing the work, however the end result can be quite rewarding once completed.
